BB Creams in India

11 Aug

Every girl wants the wonder cream that will instantly brighten her face and get rid of all the annoying blemishes that tend to leave behind scars. But with so many beauty products flooded in the market that claim to do the magic, it gets  hard to find that perfect moisturizer, cream, or makeup. Well, there is another new cream that is making remarks of doing just the same.. yes, we are talking about the new revolutionary BB cream, or Blemish Balm or the Beblesh Balm (BB) cream. So lets review few of the BB creams and learn for ourselves what the hype is all about.

So what is the BB cream, aka the magical cream!

“Dr Rashmi Shetty, cosmetic physician, says, “It claims to be an all-in one cream”.[Times of India]

  •  It heals, smoothens, refines and softens skin.
  • It has SPF, so you don’t need to slather sunscreen
  • It evens out complexion like a foundation, and since it’s not as thick it won’t clog your pores.
  • It covers up blemishes, mild discolouration and pigmentation on skin, effectively doubling up as a concealer
  • It brightens skin leaving you with a dewy finish like a primer.
  • Since it’s an OTC cream, it’s not got any real harmful side-effects.

Lets look at few BB Creams from different brands:

Maybelline

    •  Quantity: 18ml
    • Color & Texture: comes in 3 shadesNude, Radiance & Natural.
    • Texture: between thick and liquidly, not too runny.
    • Price: 199 INR

Claims: The Maybelline BB Cream is suitable for Normal to Dry skin textures. After applying, you get a dewy glow on your face! But if you’re skin is oily, then be careful while using it as it may cause greasiness at times.

  • Review:  It brightens the skin without leaving behind a whitish cast. One thing I love is that it does not make the skin feeling oily, EVEN after 3-4 hours of application. This product provides a dewy look, along with a sheer coverage.
  • Rating: 8/10 – the reason I didnt gave 10 was because it’s a bit expensive for the amount (18ml) and will probably last for about a month. Also it has limited shade so it does not appeal to all the skin tones.
  • Would I recommend: Yes, definitely! Its a great product and every girl needs to try it out! 🙂

  • Quantity: 73.8 ml
  • Texture: thick (takes a long time to dry) but it does have SPF 15
  • Price: 500 INR

Claims: known to be the Miracle Skin Perfecter. it is all in one skin care that gives 5 benefits: hydrates and evens out skin tone. Contains caffeine that prevents redness or irritation! One of the main ingredients is Vitamin C, which instantly brightens your face!

  •  Review: After using it, the face seems to become very oily and greasy! You definitely need a finishing powder after using the product.  The BB cream does not really blend in with the skin, leaving the face looking really cakey and feels chalky, as if you have applied a lot of makeup.
  • Rating: 5/10
  • Would I recommend: Definitely not, I would rather try some other brand BB cream before buying Granier again!

So here you go guys, two BB creams with their verdict! Try it out for yourselves and let me know which one you prefer! 🙂

Did you know: Dermatologists initially use BB Cream to help laser surgery patients regenerate, protect and soothe their highly sensitive skin.
